Cilento
Residence Villa Rosi is located in Laureana Cilento, a historic village that is part of the ancient Cilento, the area surrounding Monte Stella. This charming town is rich in historical landmarks, including grand palaces, churches, and chapels—evidence of a history that dates back to the settlement of the Basilian Monks in the 8th century AD and continues to the present day.
Today, Laureana preserves the deep-rooted farming traditions of the past while increasingly becoming a destination for high-quality tourism. Surrounded by chestnut forests and countryside covered with olive trees and fig orchards, it offers breathtaking views of the entire Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. This makes it an ideal place for a relaxing vacation, as well as a perfect starting point to explore the beautiful beaches of the Cilento coast.
Nowadays, the Cilento region refers to a vast area stretching from Paestum to Sapri, near the border with Basilicata. This territory boasts about 130 kilometers of coastline, small plains, countless hills, and famous mountains such as Cervati, Gelbison, Bulgheria, and Panormo. The area is also home to important archaeological sites, including Paestum, Elea, Roccagloriosa, Civitella, Sacco Vecchia, and the ghost village of Roscigno.
Furthermore, Laureana is located within the Cilento, Alburni, and Vallo di Diano National Park, one of the largest national parks in Italy, offering wild nature, scenic trails, and places of extraordinary beauty.
